Introducing the Chickens To Each Other

The two pullets we’ve been raising are now just a tad shy of three months old. A week ago we took them outside, so they’re living now in a separate coop on the orchard floor. Up until today, we had them within sight of the big girls but not close together.

Today I moved the big girls to a fresh spot, and then I cozied up the pullets to the big girls’ run. This should give everybody a chance to get used to everybody else, well in advance of placing the pullets in with the big girls. I’m planning to leave them in this configuration for a couple of weeks before we place the pullets in with the big girls.
