We’re delighted we had a contract to sell our suburban house within two days of placing it on the market. But the “drop everything” process of getting it ready for closing in two weeks forced us to spend much time away from the farm. Lesson for the future: if you must be away from the farm for two weeks, don’t let it be in March.
Veg Hill is overgrown with those ever-opportunistic weeds, we’re later than we wanted to be with planting tomatoes and peppers, and we’re having to scrimp on soil prep just because we’ve run out of time. Out in the orchard, there’s still mulching to do, and it’s getting urgent that we get that deer fence installed. We finish with a quick description of what we loosely call “Phase II.”
